Ernest Whittle DDS

284 Sound Beach Ave.
Old Greenwich, CT 06870

Our office is located in the beautiful village of Old Greenwich, Connecticut just a few blocks walking distance from the train station on Sound Beach Avenue, and directly across from the Old Greenwich Elementary School.
There is plenty of free parking behind the office, or along Sound Beach Avenue in front of the office (and there are no parking meters in our part of town).
The office is in the residential section of town just south of the village. There are no other medical or dental offices in the building, and we do not share our parking area or entrances and exits with any other office.
This gives us greater control over the cleanliness and disinfection of our facilities, which has become a major concern during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Social distancing is strictly observed, no one is allowed in the office without a mask, and everyone’s temperature (staff and patients) is taken with a no-contact thermometer daily.
Dr. Whittle rarely keeps his patients waiting, but those who arrive early have the choice of waiting in their car until texted to come in, sitting on a bench on our front porch, or waiting in the large waiting area which allows the recommended six feet of social distancing.
We are a small office, comprised of a receptionist, two Hygienists, a dental assistant, and Dr. Whittle. All members of our staff are extremely conscientious, and strive to not only meet but exceed the standards of disinfection and sterilization set by the CDC.
Throughout this difficult year of 2020, we have provided continuous care to our patients, whether it was the “emergency only” care we were required by Governor Lamont to provide from March until June as designated “essential workers”, or the normal schedule of routine work we have provided on a continual basis since re-opening in June.
Dr. Whittle has been using the Cerec system of CAD CAM technology since 2011 to generate beautiful durable all-porcelain crowns and other restorations in one visit that are natural in appearance and function, without having to use the traditional impression trays and materials that so often cause a patient to gag. Unlike traditional methods that require multiple visits with models and impressions that are sent to out-of-state dental laboratories, the digital system of generating crowns is all done in our office in one visit- around two hours. “One and done”. And all work on each crown is done by Dr. Whittle himself from start to finish.
Although more involved cases like bridges and dentures may require more than one appointment, the number of appointments is still greatly reduced by the use of this technology. In 2021 we celebrate being a part of the Old Greenwich/Riverside community for 40 years. Our greatest source of pride is the fact that we have been entrusted to provide care to two, three, and even in some cases four generations of the same family. We have earned this trust daily by always striving to do what is in the best interest of our patients; whether it is here in our office, or when it is in the patient’s best interest to be referred to one of the many Dental Specialists with which Dr. Whittle collaborates. Over the years, we have invested time and money to bring our patients the latest technology and the highest level of care we can provide. It is our way of thanking our patients for choosing to entrust us with the care of their families and loved ones.
